The return of Jesus Christ is closer than ever before! As we see prophecies unfolding, global events aligning with Scripture, and the world growing darker in sin, we must ask ourselves:
❗ Are we truly ready for His return?
Jesus warned that His Second Coming will be sudden and unexpected. Many will be caught unprepared, distracted by the cares of this world. But as believers, we are called to be born again, remain steadfast in faith, and stay vigilant through watching and praying.
This is an urgent call to all Christians—do not grow weary, do not fall asleep spiritually, and do not compromise! The time is near! Let’s explore how we can be ready for the glorious return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
1. Jesus is Coming Soon – Be Ready!
Jesus Himself promised that He would return. This is not a myth or a story—it is divine truth!
📖 John 14:3 – “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
The early church lived in constant expectation of Christ’s return. They knew that this world was temporary, and they prepared their hearts daily. We must do the same!
📖 Revelation 22:12 – “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.”
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:2 – “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”
Since we do not know the exact hour of His return, we must be ready at all times.
2. Be Born Again and Remain in Christ
To be ready for Christ’s return, we must first be born again. Being a churchgoer, knowing Bible verses, or performing good deeds is not enough—we must be transformed by the Spirit of God.
📖 John 3:3 – “Jesus answered him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”
To be born again means:
✅ Repenting of sin (Acts 3:19)
✅ Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9)
✅ Receiving the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13)
✅ Living a new life in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
But it is not enough to just be born again—we must remain in Christ. Many start the Christian journey but fall away due to the pressures of life, sin, and spiritual laziness.
📖 John 15:4-5 – “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
This is a call to stay rooted in Jesus, reading His Word daily, obeying His commands, and walking in the Spirit.
3. Do Not Give Up – Remain Steadfast!
In these last days, many Christians are growing weary. The pressures of life, trials, and temptations cause some to backslide or even abandon their faith. But Jesus warned us:
📖 Matthew 24:13 – “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
We must never give up! No matter how hard things get, God will give us strength to remain steadfast.
📖 1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
Do not let the world, sin, or discouragement pull you away from God. The reward is eternal life with Christ!
📖 Galatians 6:9 – “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
4. Be Watchful and Pray!
One of the greatest warnings Jesus gave was to watch and pray so that we are not caught off guard when He returns.
📖 Luke 21:36 – “But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Many Christians have become spiritually asleep—distracted by the world, busy with life, or lukewarm in their faith. But Jesus warns:
📖 Revelation 3:2-3 – “Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.”
How do we stay watchful and prayerful?
✅ Pray daily – Stay connected to God through prayer. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
✅ Read the Bible – The Word of God keeps us spiritually strong. (Psalm 119:105)
✅ Live righteously – Avoid sin and walk in holiness. (1 Peter 1:16)
✅ Be filled with the Holy Spirit – He helps us remain watchful. (Ephesians 5:18)
5. Overcome Temptation – Stay Pure!
Satan is working harder than ever to deceive Christians, causing them to fall into sin and be unprepared for Christ’s return.
📖 1 Peter 5:8 – “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Do not allow sin to pollute your soul. Keep your heart pure and your mind focused on Christ.
📖 Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
Sin is dangerous because it hardens the heart and leads people away from God. We must confess our sins and live in obedience.
📖 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
6. The Reward for Those Who Are Ready
For those who remain faithful, watchful, and steadfast, Jesus promises a great reward.
📖 2 Timothy 4:8 – “Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
This is our hope—to reign with Jesus forever in His glorious kingdom!
Conclusion: Are You Ready?
The signs of the end times are all around us. Jesus is coming very soon. This is not the time to be lazy, distracted, or spiritually asleep.
📖 Revelation 22:20 – “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!”
Now is the time to:
✅ Be born again and stay in Christ
✅ Remain steadfast in faith
✅ Be vigilant, watch, and pray
✅ Live a pure and holy life
